Soyinka Blasts FG Over Use Of Military On ‘Unarmed’ Protesters,

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has condemned the deployment of soldiers by the Federal Government on “unarmed” protesting youths at Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday, in which many persons were feared dead.

Soyinka made the remarks in a lengthy statement he wrote from his A.R.I. Kemta Housing Estate, residence, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Wednesday.
The Nobel Laureate, who urged affected state governors to demand from FG immediate withdrawal of armed soldiers from the states, stressed that the Centre had chosen to act in an “authoritarian manner.”
