Why I Can’t Call For Sack Of Buhari’s Service Chiefs – Obasanjo

Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has said he cannot call for the sack of the country’s service chiefs because he did not appoint them.

Obasanjo stated this on Thursday, during a condolence visit to the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, over the death of his mother, Abigail.

He called for a stronger synergy between the federal government and the citizens in addressing the issues affecting the country.

The elder statesman, who also listed insecurity, economic instability, and poor governance as major challenges, urged the citizens to be resolute and proactive in addressing the logjam.

Nigeria Becoming Divided, A Basket Case Under Buhari – Obasanjo

Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, has said the country is becoming a failed state and divided under President Muhammadu.

Obasanjo claimed Nigeria needs to be rescued from the brink of collapse.

He said this while delivering a speech titled, ‘Moving Nigeria Away from Tipping Over’ at a consultative dialogue attended by representatives of Afenifere, Middle Belt Forum, Northern Elders Forum, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo and Pan Niger Delta Forum.

The event was held in Abuja on Thursday.

How Mali’s Political Crisis Could Affect Nigeria – Obasanjo

Former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, has warned that the ongoing political crisis in Mali, could affect Nigeria.

Obasanjo stated this in an article he wrote for The Africa Report on Thursday.

He noted that the crisis poses grave security risks to neighbouring West African countries especially Senegal, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic.

There is a protest movement in Mali, calling for the resignation of President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, over allegations of corruption and incompetence.

Obasanjo feels the protest is different from those in the past, because it has the support of majority of the population.
