NIS Gives Deadline For e-Registration Of Foreign Migrants

The Cross River Command of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has called on foreign migrants, who are yet to be captured in its database, to do so before the January 2020 deadline.

The Comptroller of NIS in the state, Mr Okey Ezugwu, made the call during the end of year party held at the Command’s headquarters to celebrate the year’s activities in Calabar.

Ezugwu said that the Federal Government gave six months for the migrants to register for free in the NIS database so that they can be accounted for.

Operatives of the Border Drill Operations of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have reportedly seized 140 bags of foreign rice at a warehouse in Daura.

The warehouse allegedly belongs to Alhaji Habu Sarkin-Fulani.

Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in charge of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Mr Abdullahi Usman, has disclosed that not less than 58,000 visas have been issued to foreigners at the airport located in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.

Mr Usman, in a chat with newsmen at the airport, stated that most of the visas were issued to foreigners coming into the country to invest in the economy, thereby creating jobs for citizens.

Foreign Investments In Equities Market Soar To ₦1.2tn

Foreign transactions in the Nigerian equities market soared by 97.88 percent from ₦616 billion to ₦1.219 trillion in the last 12 years, figures released yesterday by the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) have shown.

The jump, which is between 2007 and 2018, indicated foreign investors’ preference for the Nigerian equities market.
