As a result of the rising spate of attacks between Rwanda and Congo, the Rwandan Foreign Ministry has reiterated its earlier warnings that the nation would fight back if it suffers further attacks from the neighbouring country, the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Foreign Minister, Vincent Biruta, told reporters on Wednesday after accusing Congo of firing shells across the border in May this year.

“If attacks continue, we will not sit idly by, Rwanda will have the right to respond to protect the security of the country, to protect the security of its citizens, and we’ve the means to do that,”

France Denies Giving Refuge To Venezuela’s Guaido

France on Friday denied that Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido had been given refuge at its mission in Caracas, after Venezuela’s foreign minister claimed he was hiding at the embassy.

“Mr Juan Guaido is not at the French residency in Caracas. We have confirmed this to the Venezuelan authorities several times,” ministry spokeswoman Agnes von der Muhll said.

France is among more than 50 countries that recognise Guaido as the interim president of Venezuela, after the country’s opposition-controlled parliament branded President Nicolas Maduro a usurper over his 2018 re-election in a poll widely derided as rigged.

Racism In China: African Ambassadors Lodge Complaint

African ambassadors in China have written to the Chinese foreign minister over what they call discrimination against Africans, especially in Guangzhou.

Several African countries have separately also demanded that China address their concerns that Africans are being mistreated and harassed.

Having brought under control the original outbreak centred on the city of Wuhan, China is now concerned about imported cases and is stepping up scrutiny of foreigners coming into the country and tightening border controls.

It has denied any discrimination.

Coronavirus: Spain’s Coronavirus Outbreak ‘Slowing Down’

The growth in coronavirus cases in hard-hit Spain appears to be slowing, the country’s foreign minister has told the BBC.

Another 6,400 cases were confirmed on Monday, the lowest increase in new cases for a week. The total of deaths reached 7,340 after 812 new fatalities.

Iraq Summons US, UK Ambassadors Over Air Raids

Iraq’s foreign minister has summoned the ambassadors of the United States and United Kingdom over a series of deadly air raids against Iraqi military positions overnight.

“The foreign minister held an emergency meeting in which the ministry’s undersecretaries, advisors and official spokesman discussed the measures regarding the recent American aggression.
