The Federal Government has assured the Government and people of Rivers State that it will effect a refund of monies expended on federal projects in the state.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, led the Federal Executive Council Verification Team on a tour of listed projects in the state on Monday.

Addressing journalists after embarking on the verification of federal road projects executed by the Rivers State Government on behalf of the Federal Government, Minister of State for Education, Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, said that the Buhari administration will always abide by set rules.

The Federal Government has vowed that President Muhammadu Buhari will not resign because of the security situation in the country.

Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, said this during a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.

He said the security challenges were being tackled, adding that the mission to clear Nigeria of criminals will be successful.

“As I said earlier, the country is facing security challenges, and the challenges are being tackled headlong,” the Minister added.

FG To Release ₦6b For Bauchi 2500 Housing Units Project

The Bauchi State Commissioner for Environment and Housing, Honourable Hamisu Muazu Shira says the federal government will soon release funds to the state government for the construction of the proposed 2500 housing units in the state.

He disclosed this while answering questions from journalists during a visit by Governor Bala Mohammed to the Minister of Finance, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed in Abuja.

The Commissioner explained that the minister of finance assured that it will release 6 billion naira out of the 12 billion naira allocated, to ensure the commencement of the project.

Ohanaeze Proposes Establishment Of Special Commando Units

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, has urged the federal government to set up special Commando units in the nation’s security agencies to intensify the fight against terrorism in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria.

The Igbo group also suggested that the Commando units be assisted with foreign mercenaries to tackles insecurity occasioned by the wicked activities of Boko-Haram, bandits and Herdsmen.

FG Approves New Uniform For Correctional Service

The Federal Government has approved a new uniform for the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) to reflect its new name.

NCoS Comptroller General (CG), Mr. Ja’afaru Ahmed said this at the inauguration of the administrative block of the Correctional Staff School (CSS) on Thursday in Abuja.

He said that the measure was part of the new act signed by President Muhammadu Buhari in July 2019.

The Federal Government is to support Benue State in developing the agricultural value chain, to create greater job opportunities for the youths and improve food security.

This was the outcome of a meeting on Friday in Abuja between Governor Samuel Ortom and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Sabo Nanono.

Not More Than 3 SIM Cards For A Nigerian – NCC

The Federal Government of Nigeria has directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to review SIM card registration and usage in a bid to bar Nigerians from owning more than three mobile telephone lines.

It is expected that telecommunication companies will block unregistered SIMs from functioning on their networks in line with the directive which came in the wake of increased killings and kidnapping for ransom and general insecurity.
