Southwest Has No Plans To Secede From Nigeria – Fayemi

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has assured that the Southwest geopolitical zone has no plans to secede from Nigeria in the heat of the controversy generated by the launch of Western Nigeria Security Network code-named Operation Amotekun.

Dr. Fayemi said the Southwest region remains part of Nigeria, will continue to be part of Nigeria and remain committed to a united and indivisible Nigeria.

Fayemi Opens Up On Security Buhari Govt Declared Illegal

The Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has given insight into Amotekun, the Southwest security outfit declared illegal by the Buhari government.

Fayemi, in an interview with THISDAY, stated that Amotekun was not in conflict with the role of the police.

He also dismissed fear that governors may use the outfit to fight perceived political opponents.

Why We Launched New Security Outfit In South West – Fayemi

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State on Thursday, said that the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) otherwise know as “Amotekun” was set up not to undermine the power of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Fayemi made this disclosure in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital during the official launching of the of new security outfit which is an initiative of all the six Governors in the South West region.
