EFCC Vs Maina: Again, Court Fails To Deliver Judgement

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, again failed to deliver ruling on Abdulrasheed Maina, ex-chairman, defunct Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT)’s application for variation of his bail conditions.

Justice Okon Abang, who made this known during the proceeding, attributed the reason to heavy workload on the court.

The judge, who said the ruling was still within time, said it would be delivered on Jan. 28.

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tony Nwulu, has declared that he will lead a protest match if the new Imo state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma fails to deliver with the mandate bestowed on him by the people of Imo.

French Steeplechaser Reportedly Fails Doping Test

French 3,000m steeplechase specialist Ophelie Claude-Boxberger has tested positive for EPO, a source close to the case said on Tuesday.

This is third doping case in French athletics in less than a year.

Paris’ Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed it had opened a “preliminary investigation on 14 October into offences under anti-doping and poisonous substances legislation” following a report from the French anti-doping agency (AFLD).

A Lokoja High court, yesterday, adjourned  a case seeking to disqualify the candidate of the peoples Democratic party, PDP, Musa Wada, from contesting the election to Nov 27.
