The Deputy Leader of the Senate, Senator Robert Ajayi Borofice, told journalists that the commended Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract (PSC) law will give Nigeria additional US$1.5 billion for funding the 2020 budget, and warned that the National Assembly will resist attempts by oil companies to create crisis in order to disrupt concurrence of the bill by both chambers.

UK Commits Extra £2.5m To Support Commonwealth Free Trade

The Department for International Trade and International Development has committed an additional £2.5 million of UK aid funding for the Commonwealth Standards Network (CSN) programme, pledging that it would continue to partner Commonwealth in championing free trade in the face of growing global challenges.

Senior Communications Officer at the Department of International Trade and International Development, Jessica Vickerage, said in a statement that the CSN works to increase the use of international standards across the Commonwealth, in order to promote inclusive intra-Commonwealth trade.

A war of words broke out yesterday between the two major political parties ahead of the March 23 supplementary elections to decide who will control power in six states.
