The Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has resolved to dislodge illegal gas facilities and prosecute perpetrators.

The decision follows a recent gas explosion in an illegal station which led to the death of five people, leaving four others injured on Saturday at Sabon Tasha, Kaduna state,

The DPR Zonal Operation Controller, Kaduna Zone, Isa Tafida, while condoling with victims of the gas explosion, lamented that the gas retailer operated illegally without even category D license.

Breaking: Scores Feared Dead As Explosion Rocks Kaduna

Several persons have been reported dead in a gas explosion that occurred at a shop along Kachia road in Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna.

The reason resulting to the explosion of the gas is not yet known at the time of this report, but the sound of the explosion attracted people within and outside Sabon Tasha to the scene.

As at the time of filing this report, the shop where the gas is being sold and other shops are up in flames.

Explosion Rocks Ebonyi School

An object suspected to be an improvised explosive device has exploded at Glory Land High School,Azugwu, in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

 

The device which exploded during break hour, Thursday, according to sources within the school, shattered the left arm of an SS 2 student simply identified as Chibuike while undisclosed number of students sustained various degree of injuries.

 

The incident which happened at about 11 am caused serious confusion and panic within the school and its vicinity.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed the death of two people in a gas explosion which occurred on Thursday.

It added that 23 others who were seriously injured were rescued from the explosion that occurred at Adule Street, Off Ojo Road, in Ajegunle area near Apapa, in Lagos State.

Tanker Explosion Destroys Six Buildings, Shops In Onitsha

Not fewer than six buildings and shops were burnt on Wednesday at Upper Iweka, on Onitsha/Awka Road in Onitsha, after a 33,000 litre Diesel tanker fell and caught fire.

A gas explosion has rocked SPAR shopping hall in Port Harcourt, injuring many and causing a major damage to the complex.

French police arrest 2 suspect over bomb explosion

French police have arrested two suspects following a blast in the city of Lyon that wounded 13 people last week, French authorities said on Monday.
