Excitement As AFRIMA Rolls Out Event Programmes

Themed: ‘Feel Africa’, this year’s edition of All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) will feature four days of thrilling and innovative programme of activities that will cater to a wide range of audiences from entertainment to music business to tourism and destination marketing.

According to the organisers, the event, which is holding at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, kicks off with a welcome soiree on Wednesday, November 20 at the poolside of the hotel from 6pm. Nigerian gay rights activist Bisi Alimi has organised the first-ever LGBT event in Nigeria.

The event tagged “Night of Diversity 2019” was organised by his foundation The Bisi Alimi Foundation. It held last night in Lagos, Tuesday 29th October.

Alimi expressed such an event could hold in Nigeria took to his Instagram story to say:

“I am so emotional this morning. Never thought that last night was going to be possible in Lagos and in Nigeria in my lifetime.

We organised a LGBT event and the crowd came out for it, both straight and LGBT, people came out”.

Technology giants, Facebook have cancelled their upcoming event in Cape Town, South Africa scheduled for October 3rd, 2019 due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.It is unclear, however, if the cancellation is related to the attacks on foreign businesses that has rocked South Africa in recent weeks.

“Due to a number of unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the Facebook ID8 event in Cape Town on October 3rd, 2019. We hope to bring the event to the region later in the year,” Facebook said.
