Enugu Airport: Rep Nnaji Lauds Buhari For Funds Approval

The House Committee Chairman on Aviation, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for granting the approval for ₦10 billion Special Intervention Fund for the reconstruction of the collapsed Akanu Ibiam International Airport, (AIIA) Enugu runway and associated facilities.

The approval was communicated to the South-east delegation during its visit to the Presidential Villa on Thursday. Reacting to the approval, Nnaji noted that the airport was critical to the people of South-east and environs because it was the only international gateway serving the entire region.

Buhari Approves ₦10billion For Upgrading Of Enugu Airport

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sum of ₦10billion for the rejuvenation of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu State.

“I have approved the sum of 10 billion Naira for an Intervention fund for the upgrade of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu,” Buhari tweeted on Thursday.

Enugu government did not abandon me, says Chukwu

Former Super Eagles Chief Coach, Christian Chukwu, yesterday, said Enugu State government has not abandoned him, as the government has continued to pick his hospital bills.

Herdsmen shot Enugu council secretary dead

Secretary of the Uzo Uwani local council in Enugu state was on Wednesday allegedly shot dead by herdsmen around Olo town in Ezeagu local council of the state.

The late secretary identified as Nnamdi Ogueche was said to have gone for a peace talk between communities and the herdsmen that have been terrorising parts of Uzo-Uwani local government area in the recent past.

It was gathered the council secretary was in company of three others in a vehicle, who were returning from the peace meeting when the alleged herdsmen attacked their vehicle.

APC dismisses election in Enugu, demands cancellation

The party called for the cancellation of the election in Enugu even before the release of the result.

At the conference were the standard bearer of the party in the state, Senator Ayogu Eze, the Enugu east senator candidate, Prince Lawrence Eze, the Enugu west senatorial candidate, Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu and the candidate of Enugu north, Hon Eugene Odoh.
