A student of Girls’ Secondary School, Abakpa-Nike, Enugu State, Miss Chidiogo Jane Onoh, has emerged the overall winner of the maiden edition of the essay writing competition of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

NAF Confirms Helicopter Crash In Enugu, No Casualty

A statement on Friday in NAF’s Twitter handle said that the incident occurred after a routine flight and that though the blades of the helicopter broke but there were no casualties.

The statement said that the cause of the incident could not be ascertained.

Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area, Chief Alex Ugwu, said on Tuesday that council chairmen had no reason to underperform as they were fully in charge of their council’s finances and allocations.

Determined to preserve endangered species, Oji River Local Government has passed a bill that protects biodiversity in its autonomous communities, namely Akpugoeze and Inyi, Oji River lga in Enugu State.
The law, the “Primate Rights Bill,” became effective on November 1, 2019. It extends protection to primates found in the communities of Akpugoeze and Inyi in Oji River LGA.

Hadi: We Are Waiting For Funds To Complete Enugu Airport

Aviation Minister, Senator Hadi Sirika, informed the Senate yesterday that the much completion of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, depends on the time the Federal Government releases money for it.

He, however, expressed optimism that the project would be completed by April 2020, “if the money is released now.”

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has given assurance that Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, would be reopened before the 2020 Easter celebration.
