Murder Of Enugu Nurse: CSOs Renew 14-Day Ultimatum

A Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Enugu State, on Sunday, said there was no going back on the ultimatum it issuued over the murder of a senior nurse, Dr. Mrs. Maria Amadi.

NAN reports that Amadi, who until her death was the head of nursing services, Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu, was murdered by gunmen in front of her residence at Trans-Ekulu, Enugu.

Following the incident, three of her colleagues in the hospital were arrested, arraigned and remanded in prison by an Enugu High Court.

2023: Stop Distracting Buhari – Ude Tells Enugu APC

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State, Comrade Adolphus Ude has urged the Ben-Nwoye-led leadership of the party in the State to stop distracting the President Muhammdu Buhari administration with the 2023 presidency contest.

NAN reports that Ude belongs to the Enugu APC leadership under Deacon Okey Ogbodo.

In a statement he made available to NAN in Abuja, Ude said it was too early for Nwoye and his team to be fanning embers of unity over the 2023 presidency.

Entrepreneurial University Takes Off In Enugu

History was made in Enugu State, weekend, as Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi laid the foundation of Samuel Maduka University, Agu-Ekwegbe in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of the State.

The Entrepreneurial University was founded by the proprietor of Peace Mass Transit company, Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths Council Worldwide at the weekend called on President Mohammad Buhari to ensure immediate revamping of Enugu coal mines, rebuild the numerous dilapidated railway stations and train coaches abandoned across the South-East zone.

Enugu, PH Discos Fail NERC’s Review, May Lose Licenses

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) yesterday concluded the review of responses submitted by the eight electricity distribution companies (Discos) that were under the threat of losing their operational licenses for reportedly abusing sections of the Electric Power Sector Reform Act (EPSRA) 2005.

The Police Command in Enugu State has reiterated its ban on use of fireworks, knockout and bangers this Yuletide.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Enugu.
