ECOWAS Endorses Adesina For Second Term As AFDB President

Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has endorsed the candidacy of Dr Akinwumi Adesina, the President of African Development Bank (AfDB), for a second term.

The decision was announced in a communique signed by the commission’s President, Jean-Claude Kassi at the end of the 56th ordinary session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS, held in Abuja.

ECOWAS said the development was in recognition of the sterling performance of Adesina during his first term of office as President of the bank.

Sagay Endorses Magu’s Confirmation As EFCC Chair

The Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) has made a case for the appointment of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, as the substantive chairman of the commission.

The endorsement of Magu by PACAC was made yesterday by PACAC’s Chairman, Professor Itse Sagay, when he led his team on solidarity visit to the EFCC boss at the Commission’s Headquarters.

As the campaign for the Speakership of the House of Representatives continues, the representative of Wase federal constituency in Plateau State, Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, has received the endorsement of North Central-based organisation, The Equity and Justice Forum.

The Director General of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Gbenga Daniel, Thursday endorsed the ruling All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun.“I have directed all our Structures statewide to cast all their votes on Saturday for Prince Dapo Abiodun, another bona fide Remo son despite current party differences,” said Daniel in a statement on Thursday.
