Outrage As Council Boss Empowers Youths With Wheelbarrows

The Transition Committee Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Chinwe Ugwu has drawn the ire of residents of Enugu State and beyond after she rolled out a wheelbarrow empowerment program.

DAILY SUN reports that Ugwu is one of the chairmen that were appointed last December, ahead of the Local Government election slated for February this year.

However, in a move many have described as ‘shocking and insulting’, she launched a wheelbarrow empowerment scheme on Monday, at the Council secretariat.

Naval Officers Wives Empowers 20 Military Widows

Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA) has distributed sewing machines, grinding machines and other items that will alleviate poverty within naval barracks to over 20 widows of slain naval officers and ratings.

The wife of the Chief of Naval Staff and President of NOWA, Mrs. Theresa Ibas who gave out the items urged the women to make good use of the material and use  the equipment  provided to put food on the table for their families in the absence of their husbands.
