Pension Fraud: Ihedioha Exonerates Self, Blames Okorocha

Former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, yesterday said he was not in anyway involved in the payment of pension fraudsters and that he only inherited the fraud from his predecessor, Senator Rochas Okorocha.

Ihedioha spoke in Owerri, through the former executive chairman of Pension Commission, Chime Aliliele, after the state government published names of eight persons who received ₦330 million annually as pension from its probe on pension fraud in Imo State.

Uzodinma Recalls 3,500 Civil Servants Sacked By Ihedioha

No fewer than 3,500 civil servants in Imo state recently sacked by the immediate past Government of Emeka Ihedioha have been reinstated.

Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma Friday, approved the release of their appointment letters and instructed that they are remunerated as at when due.

According to our correspondent in the state, the Governor has charged the Head of Service, Camillus Chibuzor Nwagwu to integrate the reinstated civil servants in the scheme of things, insisting that the government is poised to creating more job opportunities rather than disengaging the people.

Hope Uzodinma of Imo has asked the Supreme Court to dismiss an application filed by former governor of the state, Emeka Ihedioha.
