The prepaid processing and procedure of Ikeja Electric Plc is not only disturbing and counter-productive, but promotes corruption as well as impedes Federal Government’s intention or goal on the country’s electricity billing system.

My frustration began five months ago, when I submitted three forms for processing at Ikeja Electric Plc’s office on Irawo bus-stop, Owode, Onirin, Lagos on August 15, 2019, hoping that the process was over and the prepaid meter will be supplied and installed anytime soon after the submission. But, alas, I was wrong.

BMW To Build Electric Mini In China

Luxury German carmaker BMW on Friday said it would build fully electric models of its Mini cars at a new plant in China, as it kicked off a joint venture with Chinese partner Great Wall Motor.

Some 160,000 cars a year are set to roll off the assembly line at the planned factory in the city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province, which will eventually employ 3,000 people.

Construction of the plant is slated to last from 2020 to 2022, BMW said in a statement.

Both partners are together investing 650 million euros ($715 million) in the project.

Ikeja Electric, NERC Colluding To Frustrate Us – Residents

Residents of Enilolobo in Ifo Ogun State, on the fringes of Iju-Ishaga bordering Lagos State, have petitioned the Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, over what they have described as maltreatment ceaselessly meted out to them by the Abule-Egba Business Unit of power distributor Ikeja Electric.

The residents have been in a long-drawn battle with Ikeja Electric over the refusal of the power company to reconnect them to the national grid after disconnecting them for over three weeks without notice.

BMW partners Jaguar Land Rover to develop electric engine

German high-end car giant BMW and British group Jaguar Land Rover announced Wednesday they are teaming up to develop a new generation of electric motors.

A joint team will be based in Munich and tasked with developing the “next generation electric drive units” which BMW will launch together with JLR.

“Cooperation between car manufacturers to share know-how and resources is important” as the automotive industry tackles “the significant technological challenges” posed by the electric cars of the future, said BMW in a statement.
