Election: Seven killed in Rivers
No fewer than seven people were feared killed in Rivers State Saturday as low voter turnout marred elections in the state.
This is as Governor Nyesom Wike said he was sure of victory at the polls despite attempts to manipulate the elections.
He was said to have been shot by thugs while resisting attempts to snatch electoral materials.

BREAKING: Guber election: Sanwo-Olu wins polling unit
The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State has won the elections at his Lateef Jakande/Femi Okunnu Ward 019 polling unit in Ikoyi, Lagos by a landslide.
Sanwo-Olu scored 124 votes to defeat his closest challenger, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s Jimi Agbaje, who scored 26 votes.

Court dismisses Akpabio’s suit over defeat in election
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, sitting at the Apo, Abuja Judicial Division on Friday struck out a post-election matter instituted by Senator Godswill Akpabio, following his defeat by former Deputy Governor, Engr. Chris Ekpenyong, in the just- concluded National Assembly election for Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District.
Akpabio, former Senate Minority leader, defected last August from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to the All Progressives Congress (APC) under which he sought reelection ticket.

Court nullifies suit seeking to disqualify Wike in election
Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court on Friday dismissed a suit seeking the disqualification of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State in the March 9, 2019 governorship election.
The suit was dismissed on the grounds that the plaintiff failed to provide credible evidence of forgery against the governor.

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Ministry of Transportation have jointly released ₦3 billion for the funding of 4-day protests by the Rivers APC against the conduct of the Governorship and State Assembly elections.
The funds are for the hiring of thugs, sponsorship of army and SARs violence, illegal protests and manipulation of INEC field staff.
