South-South Elders Issue Threat Over 2023 Presidency

The South-South Elders on Sunday declared that there will be a crisis that could consume Nigeria if the North should insist on retaining power.

The two-term tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari expires in 2023.

The South-South elders noted that it was logical to allow their zone to produce the President for another four years so as to “complete its second tenure”.

Buhari’s victory in 2015 stopped former President, Goodluck Jonathan from clinching a second term.

National Coordinator of South-South Elders Forum, HRH Anabs Sara Igbe, told Vanguard, that

When A Child Eats With Elders: Buhari’s Daughter And Jet

The presidency has reacted to a debate raging on social media over the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to allow his daughter, Hanan Buhari, to use the Presidential jet for her photoshoots.

For a man who has a “so-called’ drive for expunging corruption from the country, this comes both as a shock and surprise to Nigerians.

If a mere college graduate can freely access the presidential jet at will for party invitations, what else goes on in the Presidential Villa?

Hanan Buhari, who is a certified creative photographer with a first-class degree in Photography from Ravensbourne University in London, …

Boko Haram: Where Are Nur Alkali And the Borno Elders Now?

Boko Haram: Where Are Nur Alkali And the Borno Elders Now?

By Yemi Adebowale

In early March 2013, former President Goodluck Jonathan was in Maiduguri to engage Borno elders on the Boko Haram scourge. It was the final day of his 48-hour on-the-spot assessment of Yobe and Borno, the epicenter of the insurgency. The Borno elders openly, and rightfully too, confronted Jonathan over the escalating assault by the terrorists. They challenged Jonathan to rise to the occasion as Nigeria’s Chief Security Officer and tame Boko Haram. At the town hall meeting, the Borno elders blamed the federal government for the terrorism and also accused the soldiers of the Joint Task Force …

Ganduje disagrees with Northern elders’ recall of Fulani

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has described the recall of Northerners, especially the Fulani herders, from the southern part of the country as unpatriotic and retrogressive.

In the height of unrest between herders and farmers in the south, the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) and Coalition of Northern Forum (CNF) called Fulani herders to return to the North to curtail the killings.

Vehemently rejecting the position, Ganduje insisted that regardless of ethnic or religious inclination, Nigerians possess the right to reside in any part of the country, without fear of attack or molestation.

The governor spoke yesterday when he hosted …

Fulani elders lambaste Bodejo over comment on Tinubu

Fulani elders have distanced themselves from Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore president, Alhaji Bello Bodejo, for attacking All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over 2023 presidency.

Bodejo attacked the former Lagos State governor in a newspaper interview on Saturday.

But in a statement yesterday, Concerned Fulani Leaders Forum, led by Muhammad Musa Bawa (Manman) from Sabin Garin Nabordo in Bauchi State, said Bodejo made the statement to serve some dubious interests.
