The presidential panel investigating sundry allegations against the suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, yesterday questioned the secretary, Olanipekun Olukoyede, and directors of the commission.

Magu is facing corruption allegation by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

The Guardian gathered that the panel led by Justice Ayo Salami had extended invitation the top officials of EFCC to provide details on some of the allegations against Magu.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, closed its case against Tuoyo Omatsuli, a former executive director, Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC) and Francis Momoh, director, Building Associates Limited, before Justice Saliu Saidu of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The presidency is shopping for a possible replacement of Ibrahim Magu, the suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The Department of State Service (DSS) has reportedly arrested Ibrahim Magu, the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of owning properties and transfer of funds through a third party abroad.

In a seven paragraph statement disclosed by DSS, the anti-graft agency chairman was said to have been found guilty of prejudicial to state security – withholding of EFCC files, sabotage, unauthorised removal of EFCC files and acts unbecoming of a police officer.

Malami Leads Moves To Sack Ibrahim Magu, In Damning Memo To Buhari

Justice Minister, Abubakar Malami, has recommended to President Muhammadu Buhari the sacking of Ibrahim Magu, the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Malami, in a memorandum to the president, anchored his recommendation on several grounds “ranging from diversion of recovered loot to insubordination and misconduct” by Magu.
