Kenya: Drones Wanted, Farmers Beat Drums To Scare Locusts

Kenyan scientists are saying the government needs to get help from countries with advanced drone technology like the United States, Israel and Denmark to stop the locust invasion in East Africa. This comes after the United Nations released U.S.$19 million to help. Farmers in the eight affected counties have now adopted traditional methods to deal with the locusts.

Kenya needs advanced drone technology to contain the desert locusts devastating farms and grazing fields in different parts of the country, experts have advised.
