Jersey City Shooters Driven By Anti-Semitism: US Prosecutor

A recent shooting at a kosher deli in a New York suburb was fueled by “anti-Semitism” and a hatred of police, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said Thursday.

“We believe the suspects held views that reflected hatred of Jewish people as well as hatred of law enforcement officers,” he told journalists.

Authorities had previously stopped short of characterizing Tuesday’s firefight, which left six people including two suspects dead, in Jersey City as motivated by anti-Semitism.

Inspectors General of Police(AIG), have been decorated with their ranks with a warning that modern policing is no longer driven by application of brute force.

The Inspector General of Police(IGP), Mohammed Adamu, who gave the warning, said modern policing involves the deployment of intellect, respect for extant laws, civility to citizens, knowledge, and sound professional judgement.

With emphasis on the girl-child, some youth corps members of the Social Welfare and Education Group under Apapa Local Government Area (LGA), through its Community Development Service Initiative, recently embarked on the ‘Fearless and Speak-out’ campaign, which is sensitisation of teenagers about rape, child abuse and molestation, as well as ‘Give the Girl-child a Pad’, which tackles personal and menstrual hygiene.
