Insecurity, Dwindling Economy Sinking Nigeria – Okowa

The Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has asserted that Nigeria was in troubled times due to a dwindling economy occasioned by various factors, including worsening insecurity across the country.

The governor made this assertion yesterday at the funeral service of Mrs. Comfort Nwagimeje which was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Agbor, while urging Nigerians to pray that God should change the situation.

According to him, many people were hungry and could no longer feed themselves because they can’t farm the way they used to due to growing insecurity.

Nigeria Can’t Develop With Current The Constitution – Okowa

Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor of Delta State, has equivocally stated that the constitution of Nigeria was a major problem to development of the country.

The Former senator and Chairman of South-South Governors Forum made this known on Saturday in Asaba while reiterating his call for restructuring of the country.

Speaking at the launch of a book by Michael Tidi, Warri South Local Government Chairman, Okowa also repeated that the South-South’s region of Nigeria demands for resource control. The governor told the people of the region to stop playing politics with critical issues.

Okowa Swears In 3 Judges, Urges Speedy Dispensation Of Justice

Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, on Friday swore in three new Customary Court of Appeal judges in the state, with a charge to the judiciary to ensure speedy dispensation of justice at all times.

The new judges are Dele Okafor, Grace Abanre and Jessica Gberevbie.

The governor congratulated the three judges, and said that their appointments were based on their personal integrity and years of experience and urged them to bring their experiences to bear in the discharge of their duties.
