LASG Debunks Report About Assault On Lagos Dep. Gov. Hamzat

While reacting to reports which have been making rounds about the assault on the deputy governor, the Lagos State Government has rubbished and debunked all the rumours that the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Hamzat was beaten up in a free for all which had occurred at the APC Secretariat.

The report, which has already gone viral had also indicated that Hamzat and some senior members of the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were beaten up by aggrieved political miscreants during a reconciliation meeting at the party secretariat in Ogba.

The Presidency has taken a swipe on Nigerians criticising the invitation of former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Deputy Governor, Obadiah Mailafia by the Department of State Services, DSS over his recent comments on Boko Haram.

Appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Garba Shehu, the President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, said the DSS took the right decision.

Shehu pointed out that this was not the first time the secret police was inviting people for questioning, adding that Nigeria is not Mali.

14 Ondo House Members Sign For Impeachment Of Deputy Gov

There is anxiety in Ondo as lawmakers of the state house of Assembly have commenced impeachment process against Alfred Agboola Ajayi, the state deputy governor.

Ajayi, who recently defected from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been at loggerhead with the state governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

The embattled deputy governor was served an impeachment notice on Tuesday, July 7, by the lawmakers over alleged gross gross misconduct.

Security operatives were also said to have arrived the premises of the assembly in order to prevent the breakdown of law.

Court Reinstates Impeached Kogi Deputy Governor Achuba

A Kogi High Court sitting in Lokoja has belatedly declared as illegal, null, void and of no effect, the removal of Elder Simon Achuba as the Deputy Governor by the state House of Assembly .

The Court also declared that the subsequent nomination of Chief Edward Onoja and his inauguration as the Deputy Governor as replacement for Achuba, did not follow due process.

Justice John Olorunfemi of Kogi High Court IV made the declaration on Thursday in Lokoja in his judgement on the suit brought by Achuba challenging his purported removal on October 18, by the state House of Assembly.…
