Tens of Lagosians stormed the LASU Road office of late Alhaji Fatai Yusuf, popularly known as Oko Oloyun, to demand the money they invested in his Ponzi scheme.

Enugu Speaks On Demand Of ₦500m From Airport Contractors

The Enugu State Government has denied the news making the rounds that the host community of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, which is undergoing major upgrade, demanded the sum of five hundred million naira (₦500,000.00) from the contractors handling the project.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, the state government described the news as “false, malicious and baseless”.

Aroh who stressed the commitment of the Enugu State Government to the timely and successful completion of the upgrade of the airport, stated “categorically that no such situation or incident ever occurred”.

The Senior Staff Association of Universities, Teaching Hospitals, Research Institutes and Associated Institutions has demanded from the Federal Government the payment of 12 months arrears of 53.37 per cent salary increase estimated at ₦8.32bn.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has warned health workers in Cross River State not to demand money from parents during immunisation of children against measles.

Kyiv, Ukraine – A year after her death, hundreds gathered in front of Ukraine’s presidential administration in Kyiv, the capital, to remember murdered activist Kateryna Handziuk.

Carrying signs reading “Who ordered the murder of Katya?”, they were also there to demand justice. 

Handziuk, a 33-year-old anti-corruption activist from the southern city of Kherson, died on November 4, 2018, from burns sustained in an acid attack.

Those who allegedly ordered and organised the plot against Handziuk remain free.
