Delta State Proposes Budget Of ₦389bn For 2020

Delta State Government has proposed a total budget estimate of ₦389 billion for the 2020 fiscal year.

The proposed figure is made up of ₦217 billion capital expenditure and ₦171 billion for recurrent expenditure, indicating that the state government would spend more on capital projects than recurrent for the financial year.

The approved estimates are expected to be presented to the state House of Assembly by the state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, as the state 2020 Appropriation Bill soon.

Two siblings from Alibioba Community, Agbor, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Testimony Okwuokenye (15) and Godwin Okwuokenye (11), were swept away last Thursday by flood.

INEC withholds Return Certificates for 4 Delta Legislators

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday denied certificates of return to four House of Assembly members- elect in Delta State over pending court matters.

However, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his Deputy Kingsley Otuaro along with 24 other members-elect were given certificates of return.

A Federal High Court sitting in Asaba has sacked the Prophet Jones Erue-led executive council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.

The court upheld the Chief Cyril Ogodo-led executive council as the authentic State APC executive body.

Four persons have been declared missing after a boat returning from a voting exercise capsized in the Benin River in Delta state.
