Dele Momodu Officially Joins PDP, Gives Reasons

A former presidential candidate, publisher, and journalist, Dele Momodu, has announced his decision to join Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Momodu announced this in a statement which was sighted by Africa Daily News, New York on Friday.

He explained that his decision was to contribute meaningfully to the development of the country.

The former presidential candidate complained that the achievements recorded under the PDP administration “have been diluted, wasted, or diminished by the present APC government.”

Popular media mogul, Dele Momodu has given reason for supporting former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during the 2019 presidential election.

Momodu on Saturday said he chose Atiku Abubakar for the presidency in 2019 because President Muhammadu Buhari’s government was not offering anything and had no changes as promised.

Momodu said this in an interview on The Osasu Show, adding that the present administration had crippled the independence of both the National Assembly and the judiciary.

According to him, Nigeria was not practicing democracy but Pseudo-democracy.
