The football pitch of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium will get a major facelift with the implementation of the Adopt-A-Pitch Campaign by the ministry of youth and sports.

200 Youths Graduate from Dangote Refinery’s SAP

About 200 youths from Ibeju-Lekki community in Lagos State have graduated from the various skills acquisition programme organised by Dangote Petroleum Refinery as a way of transforming society and providing employment opportunities for the youths.

The programme was put together by Dangote Petroleum Refinery and facilitated by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and the Nigerian Content Development and Management Board (NCDMB).

The skills acquisition programme, which cuts across a wide range of vocational skills such as plumbing, welding, iron bending, auto mechanics and electrical works, marked the successful completion of the first batch the trainees.

Dangote Tomatoes Processing Plant has established a ₦3 billion Green House nursery in Kano, designed to process over 300 to 350 million tons of hybrid tomato seedlings expected to make Nigeria self-sufficient in tomatoes production.

The Managing-Director of the Farm, Mr. Abdulkarim Lawal Kaita, said that the Green House Nursery would facilitate increased production of high-quality seedlings which the company plans to roll out to tomatoes farmers to both production of fresh tomatoes and locally made tomatoes paste in the country.

Refinery: NNPC not in competition with Dangote – Kyari

The Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Malam Mele Kyari says the corporation is not in contest for market share with the forthcoming Dangote Refinery.

Kyari disclosed this in a statement signed by Mr Ndu Ughamadu the spokesman for the corporation, in Abuja, on Wednesday.

The federal government has revealed that the N1.2billion hostel donated by the Aliko Dangote Foundation to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria is the single largest donation by an individual in the history of universities in Nigeria.
