Kano Anti-Corruption Investigating Three Judges In State

The Kano State Anti-Corruption and Public Complaints Commission has started investigating three Magistrate Judges in the State over alleged corrupt practices.

The investigation was to unravel how the Magistrates allegedly indulged in corrupt practices while carrying out their duties.

One of the Magistrates Judge under investigation is Aminu Usman who was said to have since been removed as a Judge of Magistrate court 34 Rigiyar Zaki, where he allegedly sent so many people to Kano Correctional Center for refusing to compromise.

UNIBEN VC Seeks EFCC Collaboration To Curb Corruption

The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Lilian Salami is seeking collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in knowledge sharing to forestall the tendencies of corruption among students.

Salami also said the need for seeking knowledge sharing with the EFCC was premised on the fact that nobody knows it all.

In his words, “We are here to seek for collaboration in terms of knowledge sharing, to partner with the EFCC in sharpening our tools as nobody knows it all.”

Corruption Worse Under Buhari Govt – Pat Utomi

A professor of political economics, Pat Utomi, has noted that corruption is worse in this present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari than ten years ago.

According to him, the change promised by President Buhari-led government was not working.

Utomi was quoted by the Nation as saying that “Sadly, even though our mantra ‘is if Nigeria does not kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria,’ I believe by my experience as a businessman that there is worst corruption today in the country than there was 10 years ago.

A verdict in the corruption trial of Sudan’s ousted president Omar al-Bashir is expected to be delivered on Saturday.
