President Muhammadu Buhari has said that law enforcement agencies have recovered over ₦3.7billion as well as various assets worth billions of Naira from contractors and former directors of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The President made this known at the inauguration of NDDC Advisory Committee, comprising of the nine Governors of the Niger Delta Region and the Ministers of Niger Delta Affairs and Environment at the State House, Abuja, on Tuesday.

Enugu Speaks On Demand Of ₦500m From Airport Contractors

The Enugu State Government has denied the news making the rounds that the host community of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, which is undergoing major upgrade, demanded the sum of five hundred million naira (₦500,000.00) from the contractors handling the project.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, the state government described the news as “false, malicious and baseless”.

Aroh who stressed the commitment of the Enugu State Government to the timely and successful completion of the upgrade of the airport, stated “categorically that no such situation or incident ever occurred”.

UTME: 50 exam contractors arrested

FIFTY professional examination writers have been arrested in the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said yesterday.

The board said the impostors were arrested nationwide following its intelligence gathering mechanism.

JAMB’s spokesperson Fabian Benjamin made the revelation in the agency’s weekly bulletin.
