The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, has called on Nigerians to focus more on locally made products to stimulate domestic production in 2020.

The Minister of State, Petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva yesterday said that federal government would continue to support local content in the oil industry, noting that it would reduce the rising cost of production in the oil industry.

The new Senate Committee on Local Content has pledged to support and collaborate with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to strengthen the implementation of Nigerian Content in the oil and gas industry and other key sectors of the economy.

The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) may incur a fine of about NLNG risks ₦1b fine for local content infringement1 billion for failure to comply with the Nigerian Local Content Policy.

A Niger Delta- based company, Macobarb International Ltd, while disclosing disclosed this on Tuesday, alleging the NLNG had maliciously and fraudulently terminated its contract.
