Is Nigeria Perpetually Under The Fulani Oligarchy?

Is Nigeria Perpetually Under The Fulani Oligarchy?

The Nigerian contraption has remained a classical case of ‘the more you look, the more you see’. As presently constituted, Nigeria is no doubt a political invention that is in urgent need of divine intervention. The unwilling union of the forcefully amalgamated southern and northern protectorates has continued to trudge on and secure validation at any major turn while shying away from the reality of Fulani control and domination.

An election cycle has just ended and a number of southerners in Nigeria are in a jubilant mood about the outcome that saw the emergence of a Yoruba man from the …

2023 Election A Flawed System Can Never Guarantee Fairness

2023 Election: A Flawed System Can Never Guarantee Fairness

Time and time again, attempting to solve a problem with the same level of thinking that created it has always proven to be delusional and a pure waste of time. Against sound logic and reasoning, many Nigerians over the weekend validated the same system that they are desirous of changing thereby limiting themselves in the process and one can only question the rationale behind their logic.

Over the past two decades, many critically-minded people have continuously posited that the major issue confronting the Nigerian state is the fraudulent 1999 constitution. This constitution which came with an electoral philosophy dedicated to …

2023: Why Nigerians Must Not Endorse Another Sham Election

2023: Why Nigerians Must Not Endorse Another Sham Election

By this weekend, most Nigerians have concluded plans to troop out en-masse to endorse the flawed system that has held down their country for over six decades. By voting in the elections on the 25th of February with Nigeria as presently constituted, Nigerians will simply be renewing their contracts with the slave master which is the 1999 constitution. This article is not to cast aspersions on these Nigerians who have chosen that path to redemption but to remind them that their decision is apparently not the best on the cards.

For a vast majority of Nigerians, the past seven …

Nigeria Does Not Stand A Chance With The 1999 Constitution

Nigeria Does Not Stand A Chance With The 1999 Constitution

In sane countries, the process of writing and adopting constitutions is entirely people-centered. This is because not only will the citizens be guided by it, it will also determine how their lives are shaped.

In Nigeria, the story is different and, as expected, in the negative.

The country’s present constitution was written by ‘strong men’ who did nothing but dethrone civilian governments while declaring themselves lords over the hapless citizens through criminal decrees. How can a country ever witness any iota of progress under such wickedness enshrined into a constitution?

Those who framed the 1999 constitution never acted in the …

America Has No King: New York Governor Cuomo Blasts Trump

America has no king, but a constitution, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared Tuesday as he debunked President Trump’s statement that he has “total authority” to determine when the coronavirus stricken states can open for business.

Cuomo on NBC’s Today Show and CNN said Trump was flat-out wrong when he said he can overrule state leaders in determining when to reopen businesses and relax social distancing guidelines amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“I don’t know what the president is talking about, frankly,” Mr. Cuomo said on NBC’s “Today” show.

“We don’t have a king in the United States, we have …

South Sudan: Assembly Changes Law To Establish 10 States

South Sudan’s transitional legislative assembly has passed key amendments to the Constitution, allowing the country to return to 10 states.

The assembly, which is supposed to act as Parliament for the next 30 months, made changes to the supreme law.

This also allows the administration of the three additional areas carved out of the states to be run by appointed officers, but in a hierarchical format where local state governors will have a say.

The move was the necessary legal framework the country needed to make changes to its existing regional administrative units, and to accommodate the demands of

CAN To CJN: Sharia Contents In Constitution, Provocative

The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has described as provocative and unacceptable, the recent advocacy for more sharia contents in the constitution by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed.

A statement by the CAN President, His Eminence, Rev Dr. Samson Ayokunle, issued by Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, Special Assistant (Media & …
