A former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has said that his party will respond accordingly if the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, decides to turn the September 19 governorship election into violence.

The former governor said the APC would not fold its arms and watch the governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki and the PDP violently steal the peoples’ mandate.

Appearing on Arise Television on Monday, Oshiomhole averred: ‘’We will meet violence with violence.’’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State, on Monday said former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, lacks the moral rectitude to campaign for the governorship candidate of the party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr Crusoe Osagie, has said the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, is only disappointed because Governor Godwin Obaseki refused to be used in his quest to become a godfather in the state.

In a statement, the governor’s aide said the recent vituperation of the former National Chairman is just an expression of his frustration over his failure to achieve his goal to govern Edo State for a third term using Governor Obaseki as a proxy.

Banners displaying the pictures of the embattled chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole at the party secretariat in Abuja, have been removed.

The billboard with the picture of President Muhammadu Buhari and Oshiomhole, at the entrance of the party secretariat has also been replaced.
