The Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to the construction and completion of Calabar-Itu-Ikot Ekpene road spanning Akwa Ibom and Cross River.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Ita Enang, renewed the commitment while fielding questions from newsmen on the deplorable state of the road on Saturday in Uyo.

Beta Glass Targets June 2019 For Completion Of $30m Plant

Beta Glass Plc has disclosed that the $30 million investment to expand its furnace capacity at its plant in Agbara, Ogun State is on schedule to be completed in June 2020.

The company said in a statement that when it becomes operational next year, the new furnace will increase the plant’s annual capacity by 35,000 tonnes and pioneer the use of the Narrow Neck Press and Blow (NNPB) Technology in West Africa.

This technology, according to the statement, will enable Beta Glass to bring lighter weight, non-returnable glass bottles to market in Nigeria for the first time.

FG approves ₦100bn for completion of East-West road

The federal government has approved N100 billion for the completion of Sections 1 to 4 of the East-West road project.

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uguru Usani made the disclosure in Abuja at a meeting with the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), led by its National Chairman, Chief Style Benjamin Tamaranebi.
