FG To Complete Apapa-Oshodi-Ojota Road in 12 Months

Motorists will have to endure additional 12 months of nerve-breaking traffic on the Apapa-Oshodi-Oworonsoki-Ojota highway for the rehabilitation of the road to be completed, according to the federal government.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that driving on the highway has been a huge nightmare for motorists since the reconstruction commenced on November 17, 2018.

Similarly, there has been traffic lockdown in the Iganmu area of Lagos over the years. Joint efforts by the Lagos State Government and other agencies to tackle the problem have not yielded lasting solution.

Reps Approve ₦9.4bn To Complete Customs Head Office Complex

The House of Representatives on Friday approved the budget of the Nigerian Customs Services (NCS) with the approval of N9.4billion to the commission to complete the Customs Head Office Complex.

The House Committee on Supply approved a total budget of N283.1billion of the Customs for the year 2020.

The approval is coming in the wake of the controversial N37billion approved for the renovation of the National Assembly in the 2020 budget.

According to the budget of the service, the N9.4billion will be from the target surplus of revenue made by customs.

Privatisation: BPE Complete Transactions On 234 Enterprises

The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) on Wednesday disclosed that it has so completed transactions on 234 enterprises since the inception of the Federal Government’s privatisation programme in 1999.

It further disclosed that plans were afoot to divest from the 10 newly-built gas-fired National Integrated Power Projects (NIPPs) when completed.

Aviation Minister, Senator Hadi Sirika, informed the Senate yesterday that the much completion of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, depends on the time the Federal Government releases money for it.
