Bordeaux-Begles defeated Racing92 on the road for the first time in 12 years on Saturday to maintain their second place in the French Top 14 table.

Both sides ran in four tries each but Matthieu Jalibert’s greater accuracy with the boot proved crucial in a 34-30 win which kept Bordeaux on the shoulder of leaders Lyon.

Panic In Anambra Community As Fuel Tanker Falls, Spills

There was panic at the tollgate axis of Ogbunike community, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State when a tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) fell into a gutter and spilled its content.

This came not too long after similar incident at Ochanja Market in Onitsha. In the Onitsha incident, lives and properties were lost as the spilled content caught fire and razed many shops and humans including a mother and child.

It was not clear what led to the latest accident but people within the vicinity fled the scene for safety.

INEC Cancels Election In Bayelsa Community Over Violence

Voting has been cancelled in Ologi (Ward 03) of Ogbia Local Government Area (LGA), a senior electoral official has said, following a violent incident that included “seizing” of an electoral official.

The official, Ukuachukwu Orji, who is the INEC supervisory resident electoral commissioner for Ogbia LGA, said members of the Ologi community forcibly prevented election in the riverine area.

“As our people (electoral officers) were coming into the community after crossing the river, they seized them and the materials and burnt all the materials.”

“They chased our people away and seized some but the military rescued them.”

Road to the polling unit of Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Candidate, in Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, was flooded forcing Electoral observers and journalists to access the area by canoes.

Residents heading for Diri’s Unit 4 ward 6 in Sampou, Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area, also patronised canoe paddlers, who collected N50 each from them to convey them to the unit.

Gunmen clad in military camouflage violated the peace in Pegi resettlement community when they kidnapped nine persons during a brazing attack on the community, located in the Kuje Area Council, of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Members of the community, who confirmed the attack, said the kidnappers struck about 8 p.m. on Monday night.
