Bandits Attack Niger Communities, Kill Eight

No fewer than eight villagers have been killed when bandits raided Kaure and Kwaki communities in the Shiroro Local Government of Niger State.

THISDAY gathered that the bandits carried out the massacre in the raid which took place Sunday morning

The invaders were said to have shot sporadically into the air making several of the villagers to run for safety.

₦10 Trillion Profit: Oil Communities Still Suffer Poverty

Despite the receipt of over ₦10t from the 13 per cent derivation principle between 2000 and 2018, by Niger Delta states, the deplorable living conditions in oil-producing communities remain nauseating, raising questions about the application of such large sum by state governments.

Electrifying Rural Communities

From Kogi to Kebbi and Akwa Ibom States, the rural electrification project is being carried out simultaneously in communities by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), a federal government initiative, thus lighting up the communities with clean, affordable and durable energy.

Four Anambra Communities Currently Under Water, Says SEMA

Four communities in Anambra East Local Government Area (AELGA) of Anambra State have been submerged by flood according to reports by SEMA. The affected communities were Enugu Otu, Eziagulu Otu, Mkpunando and Umundeze.

This was disclosed by the Executive Director of Anambra State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Mr. Cyril Agupugo, when he briefed the State Governor, Willie Obiano, on the incidents of flood in the state.

Ihedioha calls for peace between NAF, communities over land

Gov. Emeka Ihedioha of Imo has called for peace between the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and its host communities over a land dispute, according to Mr Chibuike Onyeukwu, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, in a statement.
