Soyinka Attacks Balarabe Over Comment On Oduduwa Republic

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka on Tuesday condemned remark by Balarabe Musa, former governor of Old Kaduna State on the establishment of Amotekun by Southwest governors.

Musa had over the weekend alleged that Southwest establishment of Amotekun was a ploy by Yorubas to create Oduduwa Republic.

However, Soyinka said Musa was wrong about his assertion on the reason Amotekun was established by the Southwest region.

APC Reacts To Umahi’s Comment On Being Its Member

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebony State has reacted to claim by Gov. Dave Umahi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he also belonged to APC.

The governor was quoted to have told the people of Ishielu and Onicha Local Government Areas at the Government House, Abakaliki, on Monday, that he was “100 per cent APC.”

Addressing newsmen at the end of the APC State Executive Committee’s meeting on Friday in Abakiliki, the Chairman of the party, Chief Eze Nwachukwu, called on relevant authorities to investigate the claim.

Sultan Of Sokoto Under Fire Over Comment About Christians

The Nigerian Christian Graduate Fellowship (NCGF) has condemned the statement by the Sultan of Sokoto wherein he was quoted to have said that “It is a lie to say Christians are being persecuted in Nigeria.”

Recall that the Christian Association of Nigeria had recently backed the inclusion of Nigeria in United States’ list of nations where religious intolerance was going on.

U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton is “more than ignorant” to argue that North Korea’s recent missile tests violated U.N. resolutions, the North’s foreign ministry said in a statement on Monday.

Fulani elders lambaste Bodejo over comment on Tinubu

Fulani elders have distanced themselves from Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore president, Alhaji Bello Bodejo, for attacking All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over 2023 presidency.
