Maid Locked Up, Fed With Cockroaches And Faeces

An 11-Year Old girl has been hospitalized after she was beaten, locked up and fed with cockroaches and faeces by her madam in Akwa Anambra State.

This came to light after a concerned citizen reached out to a human right group (Behind Bars Right Initiative) and tipped them of the situation of the little house help. They acted immediately, saved the maid and then took her to Amaku General Hospital, Awka where she is currently receiving treatment.

Dead Rats And Cockroaches Seen By NAFDAC In Abuja Bakery

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) said on Wednesday that in the course of routine monitoring operations, it found dead rats, cockroaches and other pests in one of the bread factories in Abuja.

In addition to that, it said that some bakers use unclean water, cancer-causing agents and other bread improver substances, particularly potassium bromate, in order to maximise profit.
