Kano State governor Abdullahi Ganduje said he has nothing against the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II concerning the creation of new Emirates in the state.

“So, it is not vendetta, I am not against him. In fact, he is supposed to be reporting to the local government chairman according to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the governor said in Abuja on Friday.

Ganduje Wednesday signed into law a newly passed bill on the appointment and deposition of emirs in the state.

UAE clarifies: No change in visa policy for Nigerians

The United Arab Emirates(UAE) Embassy in Abuja said the country’s visa policy has not changed, debunking  reports  in the media that it has suspended issuing three-month visa to Nigerian visitors.

An embassy source clarified that the 90-day or 60-day visa is not meant for tourists, but it is issued only to those going to the country for business.

Tourists, the official said, are entitled to 14-day visa.

INEC clarifies on Elections’ postponement

Following rumours that it has postponed the General election scheduled for Saturday, February 16th, 2019, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has spoken on the issues.

As journalists keep vigil at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja, Rotimi Oyekanmi, the chief press secretary to INEC’s chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has informed the newsmen that the commission has taken a decision after a crucial meeting attended by the chairman and 12 national commissioners.
