The General Officer Commanding 81 Division of the Nigerian Army Major General Olu Irefin has charged officers and men of the division to ensure that in the coming year 2020, they remain apolitical and do their best to elevate the force.

Christmas Break: Govt Workers Shun Office On Friday

There was low turn out of workers on Friday at the state secretariat in Osogbo, the Osun capital, after the Christmas celebration.

A NAN correspondent, who monitored resumption in some of the government establishments and offices, revealed that only few workers reported at work after the two-day public holiday declared by the Federal Government to celebrate Christmas and Boxing Day.

Christmas: Oshiomhole Rejects Gifts From Gov Obaseki

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Edo State, has rejected Christmas gifts from Edo State Government.

Mr Crusoe Osage, the Special Adviser to Edo State Governor on Media and Communications, disclosed this in a statement in Benin on Wednesday, NAN reports.

Osagie said the conventional Christmas presents reserved for former governors of the state that were sent to Oshiomhole were turned back.

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Niger said on Wednesday that five people were killed in an accident along Bida- Kutigi road of Bida Local Government Area.

NAN reports that similar accident occurred on Tuesday at Bonu village along Lambata-Minna road resulting to loss of 5 lives and injuring of several others.

Christmas: Police Ban Use Of Fireworks In Kogi

The Kogi State Police command has banned the use of fireworks ( Knock-Out) across the state during the festive season.

In a statement signed by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP William Aya on Friday, parents and guardians were admonished to restrain their Children and Wards from using fireworks stressing that, the command’s position against knockouts is a strategy to encourage security in the State.
