A mother and her child were burnt to death while more than 40 buildings were razed in a tanker explosion at Upper Iweka area of Onitsha, Anambra State. Over 500 lock-up shops were also gutted by the fire along with the Iweka street market leading to Ochanja and Menax markets.

Celebrity power couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have welcomed their fourth baby, after a surrogate gave birth on Thursday.

The couple have added another boy to their family, which consists of three other children, North, five, son Saint, three, and daughter Chicago, 15 months.

Pope issues new child abuse legislation for Vatican City

Pope Francis issued stringent child abuse legislation for Vatican City employees on Friday, as part of the Church’s bid to address a wave of sex abuse allegations against priests.The legislation requires officials and employees in the Vatican City State as well the Roman Curia, the central administration of the Catholic Church, to immediately report any abuse against minors and vulnerable people or face fines or a prison sentence.Anyone convicted of abuse must be “removed from office” under the new rules, which set a statute of limitations for such crimes at 20 years from the date victims turn 18.

Tanitoluwa Adewunmi, an eight-year-old Nigerian boy has become a child-chess star in the United States.

Adewunmi, whose family is homeless in Manhattan, has seven trophies after winning his category at the New York State chess championship, according to the New York Times.
