LPGC, Mobil, MTN, Others Declared Top Taxpayers In Nigeria

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has listed some firms in Nigeria who were the top-performing taxpayers in 2021.

It also commended them for their exceptional efforts in contributing towards generating N6.405 trillion revenue for the government to meet its social contract with the Nigerian citizens, despite the harsh economic conditions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The companies are; the Nigeria Liquified Petroleum Gas Company Ltd, which was recognized as the Most Supportive Taxpayer; while the Nigeria National Petroleum Company was listed as the Highest Taxpayer.

Chevron Nigeria To Sack 25% Of Workforce

Chevron Nigeria Limited has said it will slash its workforce by 25 per cent as it is reviewing its manpower requirements in the light of the changing business environment.

CNL disclosed this on Friday in a statement entitled ‘Chevron Nigeria Limited reviews workforce in accordance with business exigencies’.

The oil major said it would continue to evaluate opportunities to improve capital efficiency and reduce operating costs.

CNL’s General Manager Policy, Government and Public Affairs, Esimaje Brikinn, said, “The aim is to have a business that is competitive and have an appropriately sized organisation with improved processes.

Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), are in war of words with members of its host communities in Bayelsa State, following dead fishes littering the Atlantic coastline near the oil firm’s operations.

Residents along Koluama, Ekeni, Ezetu, Fishtown, Foropa, and Sangana axis of the Atlantic coastline in Bayelsa, hosts to CNL had reported the sudden sighting of dead fishes in the shoreline, since the middle of March.
