Ex-Militant Leaders React Over Sack Of Charles Dokubo

Some ex-Militant leaders from the nine states of the Niger Delta region have described as “expected” and “commendable” the sack of the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Professor Charles Dokubo.

They said the sack by President Mohammed Buhari, showed the present administration has the interest of the region at heart.

Buhari, in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, had also ordered that a Caretaker Committee be set up to review the programme and take over its running henceforth.

Buhari Suspends Dokubo As Chairman Of Amnesty Programme

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, suspended the coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Professor Charles Dokubo.

Buhari also ordered that a Caretaker Committee be set up to review the programme and take over its running henceforth.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.

The statement said the suspension, which was recommended by the Caretaker Committee, which was set up by the National Security Adviser (NSA), takes immediate effect.

Buhari Has Done Well for N’Delta, Says Charles Dokubo

Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Prof. Charles Dokubo, at the weekend lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for what he described as his unwavering determination towards deepening peace and development in the Niger Delta region.

Dokubo said Buhari has done well for the people of the oil-rich region, especially with the Amnesty Programme, which he said had trained over 3,000 beneficiaries in less than two years under his (Dokubo) watch from March 2018.
