Piqued by the ranking of the Kwara State in the North central zone of the country as the lowest state in terms of Ease of Doing Business, the state Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has pledged to implement reforms that would change the narrative.

Mrs Sharon Ikeazor, the Minister of State for Environment, says women have a critical role to play in combating climate change.
Ikeazor made this known while receiving Mrs Ebere Ifendu, the President, Women in Politics Forum (WIPF) and other women politicians in her office in Abuja.

According to her, climate change affects everyone but women bear the brunt of its adverse effects.

Just a day after the President of Chile said his country could no longer hold the world’s annual climate conference, Spain has offered to host it in Madrid.

The critical meeting, called COP25, was due to take place in Santiago for two weeks from 3 December.

Chilean President Sebastián Piñera said his government needed “to prioritise re-establishing public order” after serious anti-government protests.

Spain’s offer will be considered by the UN’s climate body next week.

UAE clarifies: No change in visa policy for Nigerians

The United Arab Emirates(UAE) Embassy in Abuja said the country’s visa policy has not changed, debunking  reports  in the media that it has suspended issuing three-month visa to Nigerian visitors.

An embassy source clarified that the 90-day or 60-day visa is not meant for tourists, but it is issued only to those going to the country for business.

Tourists, the official said, are entitled to 14-day visa.
