FRSC Cautions Driving School Operators

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Oyo State Command, has cautioned driving school operators in the state over churning out unqualified drivers.

Oyo State FRSC Sector Commander, Mrs Uche Winifred, gave the warning on Friday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Winifred while speaking, said operators of driving schools must ensure that applicants undergo full training before giving permission to go for test and acquire licence.

She said that applicants must not be allowed to stay at home while their names unload into the system by proxy.

Police Cautions Bank Customers On Robbers New Strategy

The Ebonyi Police Command on Thursday said it had uncovered a new strategy used by criminals to rob bank customers.

The command’s spokesperson, Mrs Loveth Odah, made this known in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki.

Odah warned members of the public, especially bank customers, to always be security conscious whenever they make bank transaction.

National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has urged  fruit sellers to refrain from using calcium carbide to ripen fruits for commercial purpose.

The NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, made the call in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday, saying that “using carbide to ripen fruits is dangerous for human health.”

Calcium carbide is a toxic and highly dangerous, corrosive chemical used industrially in the production of acetylene gas, which burns and produces light.

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has cautioned the Federal Government against implementing the recommendation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the removal of subsidy on petroleum products in the country.
