The UN expert on human rights in Iran has said in a report that US sanctions reimposed on the country in 2018 have hit oil sales and caused the devaluation of its currency.

“The negative impact of the reimposition of economic sanctions” by Washington has been “felt strongly by ordinary Iranians,” Javaid Rehman said in his report to the General Assembly circulated Friday.

“The sanctions have hit oil sales, imposed wide-ranging restrictions on traders and businesses and triggered the devaluation of the Iranian currency,” he said.

Nigerians caused rift between Obaseki and I – Oshiomhole

National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has blamed the Nigerian media for the alleged rift between himself and Gov. Godwin Obaseki, describing his successor as his brother.

Oshiomhole spoke when he received Obaseki, who led members of his cabinet to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival with his former boss, at his Iyamoh residence in Estako West Local Government Government Area of Edo.

How reckless driver caused Ibadan tanker fire

Details emerged yesterday about how a reckless car driver triggered the fire incident that claimed the lives of three people, three cars and more than 10 motorcycles in Ibadan during the week.

Also destroyed in the fire incident were kiosks belonging to a motorcycle seller and a lottery operator. The havoc wreaked by the incident according to eyewitnesses would have been worse but for the quick removal of vehicles in a nearby car wash. The operator was said to have quickly driven the vehicles to safety when the fuel started spilling from the tanker.
