Ohanaeze Calls For Imprisonment Of ‘Corrupt Untouchables’

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) on Friday lamented the latest ranking of Nigeria in the corruption index by Transparency International (TI).

Nigeria was ranked 146 out of 180 Countries on the 2019 Corruption Perception Index, dropping two places in one year.

The Ohanaeze Youth Council in a statement signed by its president, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to jail persons whose actions have given Nigeria a bad image.

It called for a review of the fight against corruption and imprisonment of the “untouchables and overrated sacred cows whose pending cases had lasted more than a decade in various courts

Edo Assembly Calls For Removal Of Esan West LG Chairman

The Edo State House of Assembly on Monday, suggested the removal of Mr Patrick Aguinede, the suspended chairman of Esan West Local Government Council, over alleged unremitted Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

The request followed the consideration of the report of the panel of enquiry constituted by Gov. Godwin Obaseki to investigate allegations of fraud leveled against the chairman.

The report of the panel of inquiry was on Monday forwarded to the house by the governor.

The Leader of the House, Roland Asoro moved for the House to resolve into the Committee of the Whole to consider the report.

Zach Randolph, who starred on the “grit and grind” Memphis Grizzlies teams that made seven straight NBA playoff appearances from 2011-2017 called time on his 17-year career on Saturday.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday called former President Goodluck Jonathan to sympathize with him following gunmen attack on his Otuoke, Bayelsa State residence.

Rivers State House of Assembly Committee on Transport has called for the establishment of an amphibious operation sting joint command to provide surveillance and check criminal activities on the waterways.
