Burna Boy Tops 2019 Most Watched YouTube Music Videos

Popular streaming platform, YouTube has today, November 5 released its YouTube Rewind list. The list celebrates the biggest moments on YouTube from 2019.

The list came in two parts, the top trending videos in Nigeria for 2019 as well as the top trending music videos for the year.

Music rave of the moment, Burna Boy led the pack with his Zlatan Ibile assisted song, “Killin Dem” from his album, “African Giant”.

Davido’s hit song, “Blow My Mind” that has help from international singer, Chris Brown came in at second place while Rudeboy of the defunct music duo, PSquare closed

REDTV, the fast-paced lifestyle channel that puts Africa on the global stage is about to host the 4th edition of its annual party, ‘The Redtv Rave’ on November 30, 2019. This year’s event is themed ‘The shutdown.’

Burna Boy’s South Africa Gig Meets Terrible Backlash

Nigerian rapper Burna Boy is set to perform at a concert in SA later this month after promising to never set foot in the country again. Local musicians and event organisers have objected to Nigerian rapper Burna Boy’s inclusion at an anti-xenophobic concert, claiming the star incited hatred with his comments on SA.

YouTube celebrates Afrobeats, spotlight on Burna Boy

YouTube on Tuesday launched its spotlight story documentary on Nigerian Afro-fusion singer and songwriter, Damini Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy.

Addy Awofisayo, YouTube Content Partnerships Manager, Sub- Saharan Africa, said that Burna Boy had become one of the leading musical voices on the African continent and an international YouTube sensation.
