The Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Mr.Alex Okoh, has advised the federal government to consider the privatisation of federal government-owned enterprises to fund the ₦10.33 trillion 2020 budget, which has a total deficit of ₦2.28 trillion.

2020 Budget: FG To Reintegrate Ex-Militants With ₦65bn

The Federal Government has earmarked ₦65 billion for the reintegration of ex-militants under the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

Also, ₦37.83 billion and ₦80.88 billion were allocated to the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and the  Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) respectively.

NASS To Adjust Defence Budget To Meet Security Challenges

The Chairman Senate Committee, Army, Sen. Ali Ndume on Thursday said the National Assembly will adjust the defense budget to meet current security challenges in the country.

Ndume said in an interview with newsmen in Kaduna that the allocation for the Armed Forces contained in the 2020 budget proposal before the National Assembly was grossly inadequate in view of the current security challenges.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Ndume led joint members of the National Assembly on fact-finding mission, needs assessment and oversight to Army formations in Kaduna State.

Delta State Government has proposed a total budget estimate of ₦389 billion for the 2020 fiscal year.
